BREAKING: 5 Shot; 2 Dead; College Campus

(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a testament to the skyrocketing crime rates impacting the nation, three individuals were killed and two others were injured near the University of Cincinnati’s campus earlier today.

Captain Mark Burns reported that around 2:50 a.m., police heard gunfire near the intersection of East University Avenue and Highland Avenue.

The University of Cincinnati promptly issued an alert on X, previously known as Twitter, at 2:54 a.m. notifying students of police activity nearby.

A follow-up alert at 3:12 a.m. confirmed that the shooting took place close to the campus.

Upon their arrival, officers located four victims, as per Burns’ account. One individual was declared dead at the scene and another died of their injuries after being transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Burns further mentioned that one of the victims managed to get themselves to a different hospital across town, while another was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Additionally, Burns revealed a tense moment when an individual ran into a house with a weapon and prompted a brief standoff.

This person was eventually arrested, although it remains unclear if they were responsible for the shooting.

The university then announced an “all-clear” on X at 3:51 a.m.

For safety measures and ongoing investigation, University Avenue was closed between Burnet Avenue and Bellevue Avenue.
