RFK Jr. Slams Debate

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Even though he did not qualify for the long-awaited presidential debate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. slammed Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump’s performance, viewing it as a boost for his third-party campaign.

In the aftermath of the CNN showdown between Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, Kennedy sounded optimistic about what Biden’s criticized performance could mean for his own longshot bid.

“They are tired of choosing the lesser of two evils,” Kennedy told NewsNation host Elizabeth Vargas in a post-debate recap about voters who see Biden and Trump as imperfect options.

Also, the so-called independent candidate held a counterprogramming event, billed as “The Real Debate,” on Rumble and X, which wrapped up after the main Biden-Trump matchup.

RFK aimed to meet CNN’s debate threshold of 15% in four qualifying polls and be on enough state ballots to reach 270 electoral votes but fell short. Instead, he hosted his own forum, where he heavily criticized CNN and his Democratic and Republican opponents for allegedly excluding him.

The 70-year-old candidate said that showing up would not have helped his opponents, but it would have offered voters a younger option than the 81-year-old Democrat and the 78-year-old Republican.

Moreover, the debate raised fresh questions about Biden’s age, stamina, and mental sharpness, as well as Trump’s propensity to share false information on the national stage.

“I don’t think it would have helped President Trump or President Biden, I think it would have helped me a lot,” Kennedy expressed.

As Democrats went into panic mode after a series of Biden’s stumbles, some speculated whether Kennedy could replace Biden.

Kennedy, a former Democrat, switched his registration to independent in October and has been critical of the party throughout his campaign.

“The nomination, Chirs, is going to fall into the hands of the super delegates,” Kennedy told host Chris Cuomo, who asked if he would consider approaching Biden about stepping into his slot.

Showing no serious interest in rejoining Democrats, he joked: “Who do you have that phone conversation with, Chris?”
