California Governor TAUNTS Trump’s Border Czar

Gavin Newsom

In a challenging comment, California Governor Gavin Newsom has openly defied Border Czar Tom Homan to arrest him for interfering with ICE operations.

Newsom’s brazen challenge comes amid violent anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles that forced President Trump to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order.

This latest act of rebellion highlights the growing conflict between sanctuary state policies and federal immigration enforcement.

Governor Newsom escalated tensions with the Trump administration by directly challenging Homan to arrest him.

“He’s a tough guy, why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me,” Newsom defiantly stated during an NBC News interview.

The governor’s provocative comments came after Homan warned that officials obstructing ICE operations could face felony charges.

Newsom doubled down on social media, writing: “Trump’s border czar is threatening to arrest me for speaking out. Come and get me, tough guy. I don’t give a damn. It won’t stop me from standing up for California.”

President Trump quickly responded to Newsom’s challenge, supporting his Border Czar and suggesting he would personally make the arrest if in Homan’s position.

“I would do it, if I were Tom,” Trump declared, adding, “I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent, everybody knows that.”

Moreover, the confrontation emerges as violent anti-ICE protests engulf Los Angeles, with demonstrators setting cars ablaze and waving flags in support of illegal aliens.

President Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order after local officials failed to control the situation.

Newsom responded by announcing plans to sue the Trump administration over the National Guard deployment, further defying federal authority during a public safety crisis.

Homan, who has decades of law enforcement experience, clarified his position:

“No one is above the law. If they cross the line, if they commit a crime– absolutely they can [be arrested] … All you hear is ICE being racists, being Nazis and Governor Newsom feeds that.”

Homan has vowed to continue daily ICE raids targeting criminal aliens, despite obstruction from state officials who prefer to protect lawbreakers over law-abiding citizens.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also responded to Homan’s warnings, distancing herself from Newsom’s confrontational approach.

“I spoke to him last night. He understands that I am the mayor of the city; the last thing in the world I’m going to do is get into a brawl with the federal government,” Bass claimed.

The mayor’s comments reveal the political reality that many Democrat officials privately acknowledge – federal law supersedes state obstruction.

While Newsom pretends to champion illegal aliens’ rights, Homan defended ICE’s actions as targeting serious criminals and making communities safer for all residents, including legal immigrants.

The Border Czar underscored that ICE operations focus on removing dangerous criminals who entered the country illegally, not the emotional strawmen Newsom describes as “4-year-old girls” or people “just trying to live their lives.”

This constitutional showdown between federal immigration authorities and sanctuary state politicians highlights the fundamental divide in American politics.

Though President Trump works to restore order and enforce immigration laws passed by Congress, Governor Newsom chooses political theater and obstruction over public safety.

As violent protests continue and California officials prioritize illegal aliens over citizens, the question remains whether federal authorities will take the necessary steps to uphold the rule of law.
