(StraightShooterNews.com) – Still resenting her loss against the GOP presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton dampened the mood at the Democrat National Convention by going low and taunting Donald Trump.
Watch the video below.
The Democrats sought to convey a message of “joy” at their convention in Chicago, but the atmosphere quickly shifted to division on the first night.
Clinton pointedly referred to Trump as “the first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions.”
This comment comes after Trump was convicted in May by a Democrat Manhattan prosecutor who had previously campaigned on a promise to put him in jail.
The charges were unprecedented in New York State, and critics noted that Clinton could have been charged with the same if she had been held accountable for her actions.
Clinton was involved in undisclosed campaign expenditures linked to the Fusion GPS firm and the alleged “Russia collusion” narrative.
The night further dived into controversy as Clinton discussed Trump’s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels.
Ironically, Clinton’s own husband, Bill Clinton, faced historical indiscretions due to his affair with an intern, which led to his impeachment.
As Clinton addressed the crowd, the crowd chanted, “Lock him up!” At first, she tried to speak over the chanting but eventually let it continue.
Her comments set the tone for the evening, which continued with a video presentation on Trump’s legal troubles.
The video controversially edited a speech from January 6, 2021, omitting Trump’s call to protest “peacefully and patriotically.”
It also misrepresented his comments about potential consequences in the car industry as a warning of a “bloodbath” if he lost the election.
After Clinton, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) took the stage. Raskin is widely known for voting against certifying Trump’s Electoral College victory in 2017 and for leading the subsequent impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Raskin was also a member of the January 6 Committee, which disposed of its documents after Democrats lost control of Congress.
At DNC, Hillary Clinton jabs Donald Trump over hush money conviction, leading to “lock him up” chant.
“Donald Trump fell asleep at his own trial, and when he woke up, he made his own kind of history. The first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions,” she said. pic.twitter.com/wIbokHYWsX
