(StraightShooterNews.com) – Raising the alarm over a concerted effort to damage America, former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley recently discussed the significant threat of election interference from major countries like Iran, Russia, China and North Korea.
Watch the video below.
On CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Haley emphasized her own experiences with these threats, specifically mentioning an Iranian murder-for-hire plot in which she was targeted.
Haley elaborated on how these foreign powers have long been involved in spreading disinformation and meddling in U.S. elections.
“When I was running my presidential campaign, the FBI had a separate hearing with me to let me know that Iran was meddling, . . . influencing the election through our campaign,” she shared during her interview.
She stressed the importance of awareness about foreign influence, especially on social media.
“This has been going for a long time, and Americans need to wake up. Don’t just look at Russia. Don’t just look at China. Don’t just look at Iran,” she warned.
“The biggest lesson we need to take is when you look at social media, I bet you a larger percentage of those are foreign engagements,” Haley advised.
In her role as Trump’s former U.N. ambassador, Haley has been vocal about the need for strong U.S. alliances, particularly with Israel, and a firm stance against Iran’s support for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
She views Trump as having a stronger position on national security issues compared to Kamala Harris, especially concerning matters like the Israeli–Hamas conflict and China’s strategic moves.
The discussion also touched on cyber threats, with Haley pointing out that both the Trump and Biden-Harris presidential campaigns were targets of Iranian cyber-attacks.
Google had confirmed these spear-phishing attempts, which were part of a broader strategy by Iranian-government-backed groups to infiltrate U.S. political processes.
Moreover, Microsoft has issued warnings about Iranian-backed cyber activities aimed at U.S. elections.
This shows the extent of these operations intended to sway public opinion and disrupt the electoral process.
Adding to these concerns, an Iran-backed Pakistani individual was recently charged with a scheme aimed at assassinating GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
