VIDEO: AOC, Anti-Israel Protesters Clash

( – Going from buzzing progressive darling to a despised figure even within leftwing ranks, Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) faced a direct challenge from a protester demanding she acknowledge the situation in Gaza as “genocide”.

In a lively encounter outside a Brooklyn cinema, AOC and her fiancé were unexpectedly confronted by pro-Palestine advocates.

“You refuse to call it a genocide, I need you to understand that this is not okay,” insisted the protester while pressing Ocasio-Cortez for a stance. Another added, “It’s not okay that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it.”

Visibly annoyed, Ocasio-Cortez shouted, “You’re lying!” Her frustration was notable as she confronted the protesters.

Trying to defuse the situation, Riley Roberts, her fiancé, attempted to steer the protesters away as they exited the theater. Afterward, AOC can be seen concerned over being misquoted and feared her words would be twisted and spread widely online.

Renowned as a leading leftist voice, Ocasio-Cortez has voiced her criticism of Israel, especially after the terror attacks on October 7 that killed 1,200 civilians. She joined her fellow “squad” members to advocate for peace and restraint and condemn Israel’s military actions.

Her views sparked controversy, notably following a Christmas message that blasted the Jewish nation while comparing Jesus’s experiences to those of the Palestinians today.

Since her first year in Congress in 2019, Ocasio-Cortez has openly sympathized with the Palestinian cause while countering Israel’s actions and labeling them as oppressive.

Her stances have not been without backlash, as she has been confronted over her views on Israel and New York City’s handling of the migrant situation.

During a presentation on the Green New Deal in Queens, her speech was disrupted by an agitator who questioned her representation and policies and criticized her support for immigrants, which led to a vocal clash.

Despite the interruption Ocasio-Cortez’s supporters rallied to chant her name in a show of solidarity, which allowed her to continue her address on immigration policies by praising the community’s progressive stance and support for her congressional representation.
