(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a decisive victory for border security, the U.S. Coast Guard cutters disrupted a migrant smuggling boat carrying 21 illegal aliens off the coast of San Diego.

This latest operation exposes the ongoing crisis at the maritime borders and highlights the urgent need for stronger enforcement measures to protect American autonomy.

The interception occurred late at night, approximately 20 miles off the coast of Point Loma.

The Coast Guard Cutter Active and Terrell Horne, acting on intelligence from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, swiftly moved to intercept the 40-foot panga-style vessel attempting to smuggle illegal aliens into the country.

Upon initial questioning, all 21 passengers claimed Mexican nationality. Subsequent checks revealed that two passengers were actually from Guatemala and El Salvador.

The Coast Guard’s successful operation is part of a broader national crackdown on illegal immigration and enhanced border security efforts championed by the Trump administration.

These measures aim to safeguard American communities from the dangers posed by unchecked illegal immigration, including potential criminal activities and the strain on public resources.

“In accordance with the President’s Executive Orders, the Coast Guard continues to surge assets and leverage its unique capabilities to protect America’s borders, territorial integrity, and sovereignty,” Coast Guard acting commandant Admiral Kevin Lunday said.

The alarming surge in maritime smuggling attempts along the San Diego coast further highlights the urgent need for increased border security measures.

Since 2018, there has been a staggering 400% increase in smuggling cases in the area. In the past three months alone, nearly 150 smuggling cases have been reported, with boats being intercepted weekly.

Moreover, this recent interception follows a series of similar incidents, including a tragic event on January 25 where a suspected smuggler boat capsized in Ocean Beach, resulting in one fatality.

These dangerous attempts not only threaten the lives of those being smuggled but also put American citizens and law enforcement personnel at risk.

“The Coast Guard remains committed to protecting lives at sea while working alongside our federal partners to combat illicit maritime activities,” the U.S. Coast Guard District Eleven stated.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported 7,300 illegal alien arrests in the past week alone, demonstrating the scale of the ongoing crisis.

The Coast Guard’s efforts, in coordination with other federal agencies, are crucial in stemming the tide of illegal immigration and protecting America’s borders from those who seek to circumvent laws and exploit resources.

As the Biden administration left a massive crisis at the borders, it is clear that the robust policies and enforcement measures implemented during the Trump era are more necessary than ever.
