Trump Gets Good News

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Despite how the lamestream media want to portray the situation, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump received great news as it was revealed that Kamala Harris has not managed to overtake him in the polls even after the Democrat National Convention.

According to Rasmussen Reports, its latest survey shows Trump has a 2% lead over Harris—48% to 46%—among 1,893 likely voters. Another 3% remain undecided.

Particularly among independents, Trump enjoys an eight-point advantage at 49% over Harris’ 41%.

This poll, with a margin of error of ±3 percentage points, was conducted on August 22, the DNC’s last day, and continued through late August.

Although Trump’s lead narrowed in previous Rasmussen polls since Harris secured the nomination, she did not gain ground even immediately after her acceptance speech.

This suggests her momentum may be stalling, as candidates typically experience a boost after their conventions, but Harris seemingly did not.

Further complicating the Democrats’ outlook, seasoned Democrat strategist James Carville highlighted Trump’s tendency to outperform in polls.

“The idea is to be good in November, and I tell Democrats, some caution here. First of all, most say we have to win by three in the popular vote to win the Electoral College,” Carville advised.

“So when you see a poll that says we two up, well, actually, you’re one down if the poll is correct,” he added.

Other polls released on the same day painted a mixed picture. A Quinnipiac University poll taken in late August shows Harris slightly ahead.

In it, Harris commands 49% to Trump’s 48% in a head-to-head matchup.

Meanwhile, a tight four-way race puts Harris at 49% and Trump at 47%, with Green Party’s Jill Stein and Libertarian Chase Oliver each at 1%.

This poll surveyed 1,611 likely voters and has a margin of error of ±2.4 percentage points.

Lastly, a Wall Street Journal poll from late August also reflects a tight race nationally, with Harris at 48% and Trump closely behind at 47%.

In a broader field, Harris maintains a two-point lead. This poll involved 1,500 registered voters and has a margin of error of ±2.5 percent.
