(StraightShooterNews.com) – Raising serious questions about airline safety and government oversight, tarmac chaos erupted at Boston Logan Airport as four planes collided in two separate incidents.
The first collision occurred when an American Airlines jet arriving from London clipped the wing of a parked Frontier Airlines plane set to depart for Dallas, Fort Worth.
This incident left 200 Frontier passengers stranded and forced to rebook their flights, causing significant disruption and frustration.
Eyewitness Evelyn Pipione described the harrowing moment: “That was terrible. It was very scary. All of a sudden, ‘thump.’ It sounded like something fell from below.”
Video obtained by Storyful shows the battered wing of the smaller Frontier plane underneath the wing of the larger American aircraft.
“So, you can see the wing actually broke on the bottom, so the bigger plane — the wing is over, and then ours is cracked at the bottom,” Douglas Garcia, who took the footage, stated.
As if one collision was not concerning enough, a second incident unfolded shortly after, involving a JetBlue plane being towed and a Cape Air plane that had just landed.
This “chaotic mess,” as witnesses described it, resulted in the Cape Air pilots being taken to the hospital as a precaution, further highlighting the potential dangers faced by airline crew members.
While the Massachusetts Port Authority attempted to downplay the incidents, describing them as “minor” and occurring at low speeds, the impact on passengers and the potential for more serious outcomes cannot be ignored.
Passengers and crew members were removed from both aircraft so the planes could be inspected for damage, and the Texas-bound Frontier flight was canceled — just three days before Thanksgiving, the station reported, citing Massport.
“It [was] just red lights everywhere,” another witness, Caroline Agid, said. “It looks like the front top of the Cape Air plane got smushed. It was a chaotic mess.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the airlines involved have launched investigations into both collisions.
However, this raises questions about the effectiveness of current safety measures and whether the Biden administration’s transportation policies adequately address the risks air travelers face.
These incidents at Boston Logan Airport are not just isolated events but symptoms of a larger problem that threatens the safety and security of air travel across the country.
In addition, it is important to thoroughly review airport ground operations, air traffic control procedures, and airline safety protocols. Americans cannot afford to wait for a more tragic incident to occur before taking action.
