SURPRISE: Amazon Workers Overwhelmingly Say ‘No’!

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Union organizers and their supporters were dealt a crushing blog when Amazon workers in North Carolina rejected representation in a landslide vote.

The resounding defeat of the union effort at the Garner warehouse near Raleigh sends a clear message: hard-working Americans do not trust the empty promises of labor activists.

In a closely watched labor vote, Amazon employees at the RDU ONE facility in Garner, North Carolina, overwhelmingly rejected unionization.

The final tally showed 2,447 votes against the union and only 829 in favor, with 77 challenged ballots.

This decisive outcome dealt a significant setback to the Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity and Empowerment (CAUSE), a grassroots labor organization that had been campaigning for unionization since 2022.

The warehouse, which employs over 4,000 people, became a battleground for workers’ rights as CAUSE pushed for higher wages and improved working conditions.

Union organizers demanded a starting wage of $30 an hour, a substantial increase from the current range of $18 to $24.

They also sought increased paid time off and paid lunch breaks. However, most workers felt that these demands were unnecessary or unrealistic.

Amazon expressed satisfaction with the election outcome, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining a direct relationship with employees.

Amazon spokesperson Eileen Hards stated:

“We’re glad that our team in Garner was able to have their voices heard, and that they chose to keep a direct relationship with Amazon. We look forward to continuing to make this a great place to work together, and to supporting our teammates as they build their futures with us.”

Former Amazon worker and CAUSE co-founder Rev. Ryan Brown also addressed the vote:

“We knew that historically the tide was against us to have a win for several reasons. One, we’re in the South. Two, the average worker that’s in North Carolina knows nothing about a union and the benefits of a union and what a union could do for them.”

The failure of the union drive in North Carolina is not surprising, given the state’s strong pro-business climate.

North Carolina boasts the lowest union membership rate in the entire United States at a mere 2.4%.

This fact underscores the state’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts major employers like Amazon while respecting workers’ rights to choose their own path.

Despite the clear rejection by workers, union organizers have refused to accept defeat gracefully.

CAUSE leaders have resorted to baseless accusations, claiming that Amazon engaged in “relentless and illegal efforts to intimidate us.”

“After all this time and spending millions and millions of dollars on trying to break up our union, they succeeded in that,” said pro-union Amazon worker Juno Rondelli.

The rejection of unionization at the Garner facility is just the latest example of Amazon workers choosing to maintain a direct relationship with their employer.

As Amazon continues to provide competitive wages and benefits, along with opportunities for career growth, most workers clearly see little need for union interference.
