(StraightShooterNews.com) – After his daughter made a shocking admission, a federal agency launched a probe into former Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently revealed that they are looking into claims that Kennedy cut off the head of a dead whale carcass almost two decades ago.
A report disclosed that NOAA is investigating whether Kennedy removed the whale’s head and then took it home.
A spokesperson from NOAA confirmed the investigation but did not share more details, sticking to their policy of keeping quiet about ongoing investigations.
The story picked up steam again after Kennedy ended his run for president in August and backed GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Kennedy’s controversy arose after a 2012 interview with his daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, surfaced again on social media.
In this interview from Town & Country Magazine, Kathleen recounted how her dad used a chainsaw to cut off the head of a dead whale at a beach close to their home in Cape Cod and then hauled it to New York.
“Every time we accelerated on the highway, whale juice would pour into the windows of the car, and it was the rankest thing on the planet,” Kick told the magazine.
“We all had plastic bags over our heads with mouth holes cut out, and people on the highway were giving us the finger, but that was just normal day-to-day stuff for us,” she added.
This incident has attracted criticism, causing the Center for Biological Diversity Action Fund to press NOAA for an investigation.
The fund suggests that Kennedy’s actions could have hampered scientific studies.
In his defense, Kennedy addressed the allegations during a campaign event.
“I received a letter from the National Marine Fisheries Institute saying that they were investigating me for collecting a whale specimen 20 years ago,” Kennedy said.
“This is all about the weaponization of our government against political opponents,” Kennedy asserted.
