RFK Jr Suing Who? Why?

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Claiming the social media giant censored a campaign video, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suing Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

According to Kennedy, Instagram and Facebook restricted users from sharing the video titled “Who Is Bobby Kennedy?” which was posted by the super PAC American Values 2024.

Filеd in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the lawsuit seeks damages and an injunction to stop what it alleges is ongoing censorship.

“This case raises important issues about censorship of political candidates by social media giants like Meta,” stated First Amendment attorney Rick Jaffe, Esq., who is representing Kennedy.

“I have no doubt this case will set a precedent as Americans increasingly rely on social media to form their opinions and values,” he added.

Kennedy’s complaint includes claims that Meta provided various reasons to users who attempted to share the video.

Some users were allegedly informed that the video was spam, linked to a malicious site or contained “graphic and violent content.” Others were told their post “violated community standards” or that the “upload failed.”

“If supporters of all candidates do not have equal access to the digital public square, then we have a democracy in name only,” Kennedy declared.

“This goes beyond restricting freedom of expression on issues and ideas. Meta is censoring a biographical film about a major candidate in an election year,” Kennedy stated. “How can voters make an informed choice if they are denied basic information about a candidate’s life?”

A representative from Meta responded to the allegations, saying that “the link was mistakenly blocked and was quickly restored once the issue was discovered.”

Kennedy’s candidacy is seen as a potential disruptor in the 2024 race between former President Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Some perceive his inclusion in the race as a threat to split the vote, with the RealClearPolitics national average showing Trump’s lead over Biden increasing slightly from 1.2 points to 4.3 points when Kennedy is added to the mix.
