Putin’s Horrifying Threat

Vladimir Putin

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Further escalating tensions amid a harrowing war that has taken the lives of thousands of people, Russian President Vladimir Putin restated his stance on Russia’s potential use of nuclear capabilities.

In a recent conversation with Russian state media, Putin claimed that making use of nuclear warheads aligns with his nation’s sovereignty and independence while under pressure.

His recent assertions mark the second time he has mentioned nuclear weaponry in two weeks.

During the interview, Putin stated that Russia is prepared to activate its nuclear arsenal should he deem it essential, though he guessed the likelihood of such a scenario happening is minimal.

He projected that by doing so, American strategists would steer clear of direct involvement in Ukraine’s conflict to prevent escalation.

“From a military-technical point of view, we are, of course, ready,” asserted Putin while acknowledging the U.S.’ expertise in managing Russian-American relations and strategic restraint. “But we are ready for it,” he continued.

These comments come as Putin gears up for what is anticipated to be his fifth electoral victory to extend his leadership for an additional six years. His previous remarks on nuclear deployment were in response to French President Emmanuel Macron’s mention of potentially deploying NATO forces in Ukraine—a move not currently on the agenda.

Putin highlighted the existential threat nuclear conflict poses and questioned the awareness of Western nations regarding such dire consequences, saying, “[Western nations] must realize that we also have weapons that can hit targets on their territory.”

“All this really threatens a conflict with the use of nuclear weapons and the destruction of civilization. Don’t they get that?!” he added.

He also noted Russia’s awareness of the U.S.’s nuclear modernization efforts and emphasized that the move would be met with reciprocation. “They are now setting tasks to increase this modernity, innovation, they have a corresponding plan. We know about it too. They are developing all their components. So are we,” he stated.

In an attempt to clarify Russia’s nuclear policy, Putin specified that nuclear arms would be considered should the Russian state’s existence or its sovereign integrity come under threat.

He echoed the nation’s official security doctrine and assured that the need to deploy nuclear weapons against Ukraine has not arisen even amid successful Ukrainian counteroffensives reclaiming territory.
