NY AG Threatens Trump

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Escalating the Democratic threats against the Republican frontrunner for this year’s presidential election, New York Attorney General Letitia James has declared she is ready to confiscate assets belonging to former President Donald Trump.

Following a huge ruling against him, James expressed she would go after Trump’s properties if he failed to muster the necessary funds to satisfy a $354 million fine imposed on him in a civil fraud lawsuit.

In a conversation with ABC News James emphasized her office’s intent to pursue legal avenues to seize Trump’s assets if he cannot pay the judgment.

The fine amounts to $354.8 million plus an estimated $100 million in pre-judgment interest and was decided by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron.

Engoron found that Trump exaggerated his net worth to secure more advantageous loan conditions. Despite Trump’s intention to challenge the court’s decision, he is required to deposit the fine with New York State as a precondition for filing an appeal.

Addressing Trump’s argument that the loans in question were fully repaid and that the case left no victims, James countered by stating that “financial frauds are not victimless crimes.” She did not specify victims but claimed the fraud was extensive and portrayed it as far beyond minor errors or oversight.

James compared Trump’s actions to a hypothetical case where average New Yorkers committed petty offenses and suggested that such individuals would face severe legal repercussions that should equally apply to former presidents.

The Attorney General expressed particular interest in Trump’s property at 40 Wall Street and hinted that she could potentially target it to ensure the judgment’s payment.

She confidently dismissed Trump’s warnings that her actions might drive businesses away from New York and said the current strength of tourism and Wall Street’s performance reveals the contrary.

James also rejoiced in the collective efforts of herself, columnist E. Jean Carroll and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in their legal battles against Trump by stating that women are particularly capable of achieving desired outcomes in challenging situations.
