NEW: Trump Wannabe Assassin Charged with Terrorism

Florida is stepping up to deliver justice where the Biden administration failed, as an Attorney General announced state charges toward President Trump’s wannabe assassin of attempted murder and terrorism.

See the tweet below.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier made the announcement this week, detailing how Ryan Routh will now face state charges of attempted first-degree murder and terrorism for the September 2023 incident at Trump International Golf Club.

During the attempt, Routh allegedly pushed an AK-47 rifle through a fence at the West Palm Beach golf course where President Trump was playing.

Thankfully, an alert Secret Service agent spotted Routh before he could fire, immediately discharging his weapon and causing the suspect to flee the scene without getting off a shot at Trump.

After being spotted by Secret Service agents, Routh fled in his vehicle, leading authorities on a chase that ultimately ended with his capture.

During the pursuit, Routh caused a car accident that injured a 6-year-old girl, adding to the charges he now faces.

This was not Routh’s first brush with the law, as he has an extensive criminal history, including a standoff with authorities in 2002 and numerous driving offenses, painting a picture of a dangerous individual with little regard for law and order.

AG Uthmeier did not mince words when addressing the Biden administration’s handling of the case, accusing federal authorities of “stonewalling” the investigation for more than 200 days.

While the criminal has been jailed on federal charges since the incident, Florida officials believe the state charges are necessary to ensure justice is properly served.

The move represents another example of how red states are increasingly forced to take matters into their own hands when the federal government fails to protect conservative Americans from politically motivated violence adequately.

Moreover, the evidence against Routh appears substantial. In addition to the weapon found at the scene, investigators discovered concerning social media activity that included political commentary critical of both Trump and Biden.

Routh had moved to Hawaii around 2017 and operated a construction company allegedly aimed at addressing homelessness.

Still, his online activity suggested deeply-held political views, including posts about Trump, the war in Ukraine, and the 2020 election.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis supported the state’s investigation, recognizing that allowing politically motivated violence to go unpunished creates a dangerous precedent.

If convicted on the attempted assassination federal charge alone, Routh could face a life sentence – but Florida officials were not willing to risk seeing justice delayed or denied.

The state charges ensure that regardless of how federal prosecutors handle the case, Routh will be held accountable for his alleged attempt to assassinate the GOP leader in a shocking act of political violence.

Likewise, the case represents the second assassination attempt against President Trump in recent months, following the July shooting at a Pennsylvania rally that left one attendee dead and Trump injured.

Routh’s federal court date is set for September, allowing his attorneys time to review the substantial evidence against him.

Meanwhile, Florida’s decisive action ensures that regardless of how federal prosecutors proceed, the suspect will face serious consequences under state law for what Uthmeier correctly labeled as nothing less than a terrorist attack on America.
