(StraightShooterNews.com) – Highlighting the need to protect the Republican presidential nominee ahead of Election Day, US Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) suggested US Navy SEALs could be assigned to Donald Trump’s security detail.
“I sent a letter to the acting Secret Service director to get answers to some questions,” Tuberville shared.
He commended the Secret Service and acknowledged their hard work, particularly given the constraints.
“They do a phenomenal job. But the problem is we’re running short on resources,” Tuberville explained.
Underscoring Trump’s intense schedule, Tuberville noted that Trump is a “different candidate” who works “14, 15, 16 hours a day, just like he did when he was president,” which means he needs additional security measures.
Additionally, Tuberville expressed his concern over the mental health issues in the U.S.
He also expressed support for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s independent investigation into a recent assassination attempt on Trump.
“I wouldn’t trust Merrick Garland as far as I could throw him. So we might get a legitimate assessment of what happened in this last assassination attempt,” the senator stated.
According to Tuberville, Trump’s enhanced security might involve not just the Secret Service but also “local police, county police, state police, military SEAL teams” to ensure Trump receives “better protection, more protection, more consistent protection.”
As the campaign continues, Tuberville believes Trump will remain a focal point for criticism but must keep engaging directly with voters.
“He is going to be a target,” Tuberville said. “They’re going to keep calling him names. They’re going to say lies. They’re going to do everything they possibly can.”
Tuberville elaborated, “And Donald Trump has to get out there in front of the American people, not on TV, in front of the American people, and tell them, this is what I’m telling you. This is the truth.”
“Don’t listen to the left. Don’t listen to the progressives. This is how we’re going to do it. And that’s the way he’s going to win this election. He’s got to get out there and shake hands,” the senator asserted.
Regarding federal intelligence and investigative agencies, Tuberville said, “They’re taken over by the far left.”
He suggested that these agencies would not provide suitable protection for Trump due to political bias.
