Miss America Winner’s Stunning Resume

(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a groundbreaking achievement adding to an already impressive resume, 22-year-old 2nd Lieutenant Madison Marsh, an active-duty officer in the Air Force, was crowned Miss America.

This feat marks the first time an active-duty Air Force officer has won the prestigious title. Her victory came at the 2024 Miss America pageant, which recently took place in Florida, after defeating over 50 other contestants to claim the crown.

Marsh serves in the Air Force and is also a graduate intern at Harvard Medical School. Her pageant journey began when she was crowned Miss Colorado last year, a title that gathered the support and accolades of both the military branch she serves and the state she represented.

The US Air Force celebrated her victory and congratulated her on X, saying, “Congratulations to our very own #Airman, 2nd Lt. Madison Marsh, aka Miss Colorado – who was just crowned @MissAmerica 2024.”

Marsh is an Arkansas native and graduated from the Air Force Academy last year, shortly after winning Miss Colorado. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Before securing the title of Miss America, Marsh had to excel through three nights of preliminary competitions, ultimately narrowing the field to just 11 contestants. These finalists then competed across various categories, including a discussion round and an evening gown presentation, as reported by CNN.

Marsh’s journey in the pageant was deeply personal. During the discussion round, she spoke about her mother, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2018, an event that inspired her to establish the Whitney Marsh Foundation for cancer research.

For the talent round, she presented a spoken-word piece reflecting on her accomplishment of earning a pilot’s license at 16. After being chosen as one of the top finalists, she discussed her military career, highlighting her passion-driven leadership and learning approach.

Marsh also discussed combining her passions for pageantry and military service, stating, “It’s an awesome experience to bring both sides of the favorite parts of my life together and hopefully make a difference for others to be able to realize that you don’t have to limit yourself.”
