(StraightShooterNews.com) – After being chosen as Kamala Harris’ running mate, a recently released bombshell YouGov poll proved that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was a disastrous pick, as it did not go the way Democrats expected.
The survey, which polled 3,003 adults this week, indicates mixed feelings about Walz’s selection, as he failed to make a significant impression on many Americans.
Among registered voters, 35% said they did not know about whether Walz was a good or bad choice.
In this regard, 17% viewed him negatively, either as a bad choice or the worst possible option.
An equal proportion of 35% saw him as a good or the best possible selection, and 14% felt he was neither particularly good nor bad.
Walz’s reception among party lines varies. Within his own party, 61% of Democrats believe he was a good or the best choice.
However, 26% remain unsure, 12% are neutral and only 1% consider him a poor selection.
Independent voters are largely undecided: 40% unsure, 29% in favor, 16% neutral, and 15% negative about his candidacy.
Republicans are more critical. 34% label Walz’s pick as bad or the worst, although 40% reported being unsure.
Only 12% of Republicans view him positively and 13% think he is neither a good nor bad choice.
Overall, 45% of those surveyed admitted they do not know enough about Walz to have a firm opinion of him.
About 35% hold a somewhat or very favorable view of him, whereas 20% have an unfavorable view.
This uncertainty extends across different groups: 62% of Democrats have a favorable view of Walz, but 54% of independents feel they do not know enough to judge and only 28% view him favorably.
Among Republicans, 47% are not familiar enough with him to form an opinion, 40% hold an unfavorable view and just 12% see him favorably.
The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
