(StraightShooterNews.com) – During this week’s Democrat National Convention in Chicago, Republicans have unmasked the Democrats’ newfound display of patriotism as a superficial ploy.
By relying on celebrity endorsements, Kamala Harris has been accused of prioritizing “style over substance” to sway undecided voters.
Speakers at the convention emphasized their “love of country” and “freedom,” but there are concerns about Harris’ lack of detailed policies, especially her support for government price controls that go against the vision of freedom.
“This is being decided right now based on a vibe … based on style over substance,” former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy commented at a press conference in Chicago’s Trump Hotel.
“Many voters are going to demand some level of substance that they haven’t gotten yet. I see Oprah Winfrey. I see John Legend. See Lil Jon. Great. That doesn’t still tell me what she stands for,” Ramaswamy explained.
As she accepted her nomination, Harris highlighted her patriotism and “the promise of America” shaped by her own experiences. Her campaign suggests this message will be a central theme of her speech.
“The USA signs at the DNC stand in stark contrast to the mass deportation ones at the RNC,” a Democratic campaign operative noted regarding an alleged more patriotic tone.
However, Republicans argue that Democrats are avoiding significant policy discussions, choosing instead to continue criticizing Trump and J.D. Vance.
“Night three [of the convention] mentioned Donald J. Trump 87 times,” said Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes. “They mentioned the word crime five times. They mention the word inflation once.”
“So instead of the major policies that America cares about, they remain fixated on running against President Trump. Part of doing that is because they do not stand ready to run on the record of Harris and [Joe] Biden,” Hughes added.
Polls suggest Harris is vulnerable on key issues like immigration and the economy. Still, she enjoys a honeymoon period with voters since becoming the Democrat nominee.
Ramaswamy added:
“The real dividing line in this country is not really between historical Democrat or Republican, it’s not really even between Black or white right now — it is between the managerial class … the people who are offering those false economic statistics from the three-letter agencies in Washington, D.C., and the everyday citizen who is left holding the bag.”
