(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a resounding victory for women’s sports, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act,” which bans biological men from competing in women’s sports.
This landmark bill, aimed at preserving the integrity of female athletics, received overwhelming support from Republicans and even garnered votes from two Democrats.
The legislation takes a bold stand against the radical left’s attempt to erase women’s sports by banning men from competing in women’s athletic events.
The bill, which passed with a vote of 218 in favor and 206 opposed, seeks to amend Title IX to define sex based on reproductive biology and genetics at birth.
This crucial step ensures that women’s sports remain a fair and competitive arena for biological females.
Representative Rudy Yakym (R-IN), a staunch supporter of the bill, emphasized its importance: “Quite simply, men should not be playing in women’s sports. Period. End of story.”
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) celebrated the bill’s passage: “This is a great day for women in America.”
Johnson’s sentiment echoes the concerns of millions of Americans who have witnessed the erosion of women’s sports due to the inclusion of biological males in female competitions.
Bill’s sponsor, Representative Greg Steube (R-FL), remarked, “The overwhelming majority believe men don’t belong in women’s sports.”
Furthermore, the legislation proposes severe consequences for schools that violate the act, including the potential loss of federal funding.
This measure ensures that educational institutions take the protection of women’s sports seriously and maintain a level playing field for female athletes.
Despite the clear benefits of this bill for female athletes, Democrats have predictably opposed it, resorting to name-calling and fearmongering.
Representative Maxwell Frost (D-FL) went as far as to call it “just a disgusting bill,” demonstrating the left’s disregard for the rights and safety of women and girls in sports.
The bill now faces challenges in the Senate, where it will need support from seven Democrats to advance.
Yet, Representative Rudy Yakym (R-IN) expressed confidence in its potential passage, citing strong public backing.
With President-elect Donald Trump supporting such measures, there is renewed hope for protecting women’s sports at the national level.
“We are one step closer as a nation to making sure that not one more male athlete is able to take a trophy, a roster spot, playing time, resources or an opportunity to compete, from a woman,” said conservative political activist Riley Gaines, a prominent advocate for protecting women’s sports.
This legislation is also part of a broader push to protect traditional values and ensure fair competition in sports.
It comes at a crucial time when the Biden administration had previously attempted to update Title IX to include protections for LGBTQ+ students, a move that was blocked by a federal judge in Kentucky.
As the bill moves forward, it serves as a beacon of hope for female athletes across the nation who have been unfairly disadvantaged by the inclusion of biological males in their sports.
The House has passed a GOP-led bill banning transgender athletes from women's and girls' sports at federally funded schools. The bill now goes to the Senate. https://t.co/2mhwQBaWd6
