Hollywood Star Attacks Bible

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Expressing his skeptical views on religion, Hollywood star Brian Cox did not waste the opportunity to attack the Bible.

During a podcast episode of “The Starting Line” hosted by Rich Leigh, Cox discussed how he sees religion as an external construct rather than a genuine reflection of individual understanding.

Instead, he suggested that religion functions more as a control mechanism and specifically criticized how religious narratives, especially from the Bible, allegedly promote patriarchal ideas.

He stated bluntly, “I mean if the propaganda goes right the way back, the Bible is one of the worst books ever.”

“Because it starts with the idea that Adam’s rib – you know that [from] Adam’s rib, this woman was created, and they’ll believe it cause they’re stupid enough,” he added.

Cox went on to contrast the roles of mothers and fathers in human development. He highlighted mothers’ profound and enduring bond with their children, a connection he linked to the biological reality of the umbilical cord.

“The mothering thing is the thing which is the real conditioning of our lives, our fathers don’t condition ourselves because they’re too bloody selfish, but our mothers have to, because they have an umbilical – that’s what the umbilical cord is about,” Cox explained.

He described men as less connected, referring to them as “just sperm banks.”

Although he acknowledged that spiritual people seek guidance, Cox argued that the Bible fails to serve as a reliable source of truth.

“They need it, but they don’t need to be told lies, they need some kind of truth, and that is not the truth. It is not the truth, it’s a mythology you know, it’s not really to do with what women understand more than anybody,” he concluded.
