(StraightShooterNews.com) – Just when America thought Hillary Clinton was expressing concern and shock at the second reported attempt on GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s life, she instead blamed him for the incident by saying he fans the flames of conflict.
“This is such a terrible thing to happen twice in our country in a relatively short period of time, and it’s frightening to see violence being threatened and used in a political campaign,” Clinton remarked during her discussion with Katie Couric.
58-year-old suspect Ryan Wesley Routh was charged with firearm offenses after pointing a rifle through the fence at Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Once the rifle barrel was spotted, a Secret Service agent fired at Routh, who managed to escape but was caught later.
Reacting to Trump’s social media saying that Joe Biden and Harris had contributed to the escalating political discord, Clinton rebuked the former president.
“I do worry about political violence. I worry about threats. I worry about what’s being said online,” she stated.
“If he were really a leader, he should be doing what he can to calm the waters, not try to just continue to throw red meat out there to get people riled up,” she added.
Clinton argued that Trump remains influential because he “keeps people agitated. He keeps people angry. He keeps people upset.”
She also commended Biden for his “patriotic decision” to not run for re-election in July and instead endorse Harris.
Without “inside information” on Biden’s decision, Clinton recalled being stunned by Biden’s poor performance during a June debate with Trump.
“When we saw the debate, like every other American, we were surprised — shocked even,” she commented, noting the debate’s aftermath was beyond repair.
The conversation also touched on other topics, like Clinton’s new friendship bracelet inspired by Taylor Swift, which she received from a supporter.
“And I love having them because I love Taylor Swift,” Clinton mentioned while appreciating Swift’s support for Harris.
Asked about celebrity endorsements’ impact on voting, Clinton believed they play a significant role.
“These elections are so close, they’re all on the margins, and anything that can inspire somebody to actually go and hopefully vote for their own future — which means voting for Vice President Harris — is good,” Clinton concluded.
