(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a shocking revelation, the FBI has seized over 150 homemade explosive devices from a Virginia farm, marking the largest cache of bombs ever discovered in the bureau’s history.
The FBI’s raid on Brad Kenneth Spafford’s 20-acre farm in Isle of Wight County, Virginia, uncovered a massive arsenal of pipe bombs and other explosive materials.
Spafford, arrested in mid-December, is currently facing charges of possessing an unregistered short-barreled rifle.
However, the scale of this discovery suggests that more serious charges may be forthcoming.
According to court documents, FBI bomb technicians assessed the devices as lethal pipe bombs, with many organized by color in a detached garage.
Some were even hand-labeled as “lethal,” indicating a clear intent for their destructive capabilities. The bombs were constructed with two layers of plastic tubes and metal spheres designed to enhance fragmentation upon detonation.
While the media and prosecutors are quick to paint Spafford as a dangerous extremist, it is crucial to examine the facts objectively.
Spafford’s lawyer argued that there is no evidence of any threats made by his client, emphasizing his clean criminal record and lack of substance abuse history.
“There is not a shred of evidence in the record that Mr. Spafford ever threatened anyone and the contention that someone might be in danger because of their political views and comments is nonsensical,” defense lawyers stated.
The prosecution asserted that Spafford used photos of Joe Biden for target practice and expressed hope for Kamala Harri’s assassination, which seems to be based on hearsay and speculation.
The case has sparked debate about the right to bear arms and the limits of personal freedom.
While the sheer number of explosive devices is concerning, it is essential to remember that Spafford has only been charged with a firearms violation.
Despite a federal judge initially ordering Spafford’s release with electronic monitoring, the government’s push for pre-trial detention raises questions about due process and presumption of innocence.
