(StraightShooterNews.com) – The daughter of ultra-liberal comedian Rosie O’Donnell has been arrested in Wisconsin and faces multiple felony charges for child neglect and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
26-year-old Chelsea Belle O’Donnell’s 11-month-old son was found in a home that painted a grim picture of neglect and drug abuse.
Law enforcement officials described the residence as a drug den, with meth pipes, dirty diapers, rotting food, and garbage strewn about.
Even more alarming, police discovered hypodermic needles and a meth pipe with residue, suggesting possible drug trafficking activities occurring in the presence of a vulnerable infant.
Found with 18 grams of methamphetamine, she now faces multiple felony charges, including maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of meth, and possession of THC.
The O’Donnell family’s troubled history has been thrust into the spotlight once again. Chelsea, adopted as a baby, has struggled with mental illness and drug addiction, leading to a strained relationship with her adoptive mother, Rosie.
“Chelsea is mentally ill,” her mother, Rosie O’Donnell, said.
She added, “She has been in and out of hospitals most of her life. Born addicted to heroin. She has had a tough road. She is very sick. She is not capable of truth or reason.”
The horrifying conditions in which the child was found underscore the urgent need for intervention.
Authorities described a home filled with moldy dishes, foul-smelling milk, and used hygiene products scattered about.
Most disturbingly, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia were discovered under the baby’s crib, highlighting the immediate danger posed to the child.
In addition, Chelsea’s boyfriend, Jacob Nelund, was also present during the arrest, with both appearing to be under the influence of drugs when police arrived.
Initially released on a $2,000 bond in Marinette County, Chelsea re-arrested in Oconto County on fresh charges and currently remains in custody as she awaits her court dates.
As Chelsea awaits her court appearances on November 4 and November 7, the fate of her infant son and her three other children hangs in the balance.
