Dems Outraged by Israel?!

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Signaling they are ready to turn their back on one of the U.S.’ closest allies, House Democrats slammed Israel’s military operations in Gaza after a strike killed seven aid workers by mistake.

This incident underscores the growing rift between Israel’s conservative government and liberal Democrats in the U.S. who criticize the harsh tactics against the terrorist group Hamas.

Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regretted the strike, describing it as “unintended,” Democrats argue that Israel has been indiscriminately endangering civilians, journalists, and aid workers amid the conflict with Hamas terrorists.

Meanwhile, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Rosa DeLauro condemned the strike and demanded humanitarian aid for Gaza.

They also called for a ceasefire and highlighted the critical situation faced by over a million Palestinians in Gaza, with a famine potentially looming.

The controversy has worsened long-standing tensions between Netanyahu and liberal Democrats who have criticized the Israeli government’s actions since the Hamas attacks began.

Led by chef José Andrés, the World Central Kitchen had been providing food aid in Gaza but suspended its operations following the Israeli strike.

Netanyahu defended the military operations, saying, “This happens in war,” he said. “We are conducting a thorough inquiry and are in contact with the governments. We will do everything to prevent a recurrence.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a vocal critic of Netanyahu’s policies and a Palestinian herself, claimed the attack on World Central Kitchen workers was intentional and accused Netanyahu of using starvation as a weapon of war against Hamas.

This growing criticism against Israel’s military strategy and Netanyahu’s leadership will likely influence discussions in the House.

The lower chamber is expected to vote on a national security supplemental funding, including aid for Israel, with Democrats demanding conditions on military aid.

The situation puts Joe Biden in the tight position of balancing criticism of Israeli leadership with continued support for Israel’s military efforts in Gaza.

The debate over U.S. aid to Israel reveals deep divisions within American politics, as Republicans largely support Israel’s actions, while Democrats call for a reevaluation of U.S. aid that could improve Hamas’ chances.
