(StraightShooterNews.com) – In a shocking case of child abuse, a couple from Oregon have been arrested for repeatedly using a Taser on their young children as a form of cruel discipline.
The Springfield Police Department (SPD) began its investigation on September 17, 2024, after receiving a report of a 7-year-old boy with multiple injuries.
What they uncovered was a pattern of systemic abuse that shocks the conscience of any decent American.
44-year-old Brandon Rogers and 36-year-old Heather Black were accused of using a Taser on their son as a twisted form of discipline, demonstrating a complete disregard for the child’s well-being and basic human rights.
Initially arrested on October 4 for Assault III, Unlawful Use of a Stun Gun, and Criminal Mistreatment I, the couple’s crimes proved to be even more extensive than first thought.
A search warrant executed at their residence yielded damning evidence that corroborated the abuse allegations, leading to additional charges and a re-arrest on October 29.
According to the Springfield Police Department, “Through the course of the investigation, it was learned Rogers and Black had physically abused their son, on two reported occasions, by tasing him as a form of discipline.”
“Detectives continued the investigation and began processing a large volume of digital evidence, to include multiple hours of video surveillance and other digital evidence, “SPD stated.
The charges against Rogers and Black have since escalated dramatically. Rogers now faces five counts each of Assault II and Criminal Mistreatment I, seven counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and seven counts of Menacing.
On the other hand, Black’s charges are similarly severe, with three counts each of Assault II and Criminal Mistreatment I, five counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and five counts of Menacing.
As the investigation continues, Rogers and Black are currently held at the Lane County Jail.
