(StraightShooterNews.com) – Further exposing Joe Biden’s alarming border crisis, Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star has successfully captured dangerous Venezuelan prison gang members.
In a decisive blow against illegal immigration and organized crime, Texas law enforcement officials arrested four members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.
The four suspects were detained after they attempted to cross the U.S.-Mexico border on New Year’s Eve illegally.
The arrests took place in Val Verde County, where Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers encountered a group of 22 illegal aliens from several Latin American countries.
Among them, four Venezuelan men raised suspicions during interviews, leading to a thorough investigation that confirmed their ties with the dangerous Tren de Aragua gang.
A staunch advocate for border security and the rule of law, Governor Abbott did not mince words when addressing the arrests.
“Four confirmed members of a violent Venezuelan gang were arrested after attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas on New Year’s Eve,” he stated.
He also emphasized the gravity of the situation and the effectiveness of Texas’ proactive approach to border control.
“Our top priority is the safety and security of Texans, including against the growing threat of Tren de Aragua,” Governor Abbott declared. “I designated TdA as a foreign terrorist organization, and we will not tolerate this gang operating or gaining a foothold in Texas.”
The arrested gang members were identified as Segundo Ocando-Mejia, Pedro Luis Salazar-Cuervo, Antonio Joe Urruttia-Rojas and Levi Jesus Urrutia-Blanco.
Alarmingly, authorities suspect that Ocando-Mejia may hold a leadership position within the gang based on his distinctive tattoos.
This revelation highlights the extensive lengths these criminal organizations go and their attempts to establish a presence on American soil.
The Tren de Aragua gang, which originated in Venezuelan prisons in the early 2000s, has evolved into a transnational criminal organization.
It has been involved in a wide range of illegal activities, including extortion, drug trafficking, human trafficking and kidnapping.
Their expansion into the United States represents a clear and present danger to American communities, particularly those near the southern border.
“Until President Trump is back in the White House to secure our border, Texas will continue to hunt down dangerous criminals like TdA and put them behind bars to protect Texans from this vicious gang,” Governor Abbott affirmed.
The governor’s words highlight the clear difference between the current administration’s lax border policies and the robust security measures implemented during the Trump era.
In response to this growing threat, Governor Abbott launched a thorough statewide operation targeting Tren de Aragua.
This initiative includes elevating the gang to Tier 1 status, creating a specialized TdA Strike Team, and offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of gang members involved in criminal activities.
These measures show Texas’ firm commitment to protecting its citizens and upholding the rule of law while the Biden administration sits idle.
