BOMBSHELL: Huge Dem Donor Switches to Trump

( – Sequoia Capitol partner and former Democratic campaigns donor Shaun Maguire announced he was switching sides by donating a substantial $300,000 to former President Donald Trump.

Maguire’s contribution came shortly after Trump’s conviction was made public.

Taking to X to share his decision, Maguire detailed his reasoning in an article acknowledging the personal stakes involved.

He said, “Now, in 2024, I believe this is one of the most important elections of my lifetime, and I’m supporting Trump. I know that I’ll lose friends for this. Some will refuse to do business with me.

“The media will probably demonize me, as they have so many others before me. But despite this, I still believe it’s the right thing to do,” he wrote. “I refuse to live in a society where people are afraid to speak.”

Maguire recounted that he was reluctant to support Trump at first and admitted that in 2016 he was “scared out of my mind about Trump” and chose to support Hillary Clinton instead.

His perspective shifted dramatically following Joe Biden’s widely criticized withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 16, 2021.

Maguire has a personal connection to Afghanistan stemming from his time deployed there in 2012 with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which intensified his reaction to Biden’s actions.

“I used to fly out of KAIA at least weekly, usually taking a Blackhawk to Bagram Airfield (BAF), but sometimes jumping on a C-130 down to Kandahar (KAF). I’m not going to go into all of the details here, but this was personal for me — as it was for anyone that served in Afghanistan,” Maguire explained.

Looking ahead to the upcoming election, Maguire highlighted key issues that made him support Trump, including policies on Israel, border security and technology advancement—topics he believes are crucial for American voters.

Despite not aligning completely with Trump on every issue, Maguire’s decision to publicly support him is also driven by his concerns over what he sees as a misuse of the justice system.

“Our justice system is being weaponized against him,” he stated and said he had broader concerns for the country.

“There’s no greater country in the world than America. But America has had a bad decade. America is blessed with a robust constitution, abundant natural resources and diverse people…Best of luck to President Trump,” Maguire concluded.
