(StraightShooterNews.com) – Reinforcing concerns about the vulnerabilities in America’s election system, Georgia’s thorough voter registration audit has unveiled 20 noncitizens illegally registered to vote, with potentially hundreds more under investigation.

This alarming discovery exposes dangerous loopholes in federal election laws, demanding immediate action to protect American democracy.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office conducted the state’s first-ever citizenship audit of voter rolls, uncovering a disturbing trend of noncitizens attempting to infiltrate the electoral process.

The audit identified a staggering 1,634 noncitizens who tried to register to vote, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the elections.

Using advanced cross-referencing techniques, Georgia officials partnered with the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to scrutinize voter registrations.

The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program flagged these potential noncitizen registrants, demonstrating the effectiveness of Georgia’s proactive approach to maintaining election security.

All 20 confirmed noncitizen voter registrations have been swiftly canceled and referred to local law enforcement for prosecution.

Meanwhile, Georgia law takes a hard stance against such violations, with offenders facing up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $100,000.

“Ensuring that only citizens are voting in Georgia’s elections is key to upholding the integrity of the vote in Georgia,” Raffensperger said.

“As liberal states and cities around the country are changing their laws to allow noncitizen voting, I will continue to take steps to ensure Georgia’s elections are executed with integrity. Leading the state’s first citizenship audit of the voter rolls is an important part of that effort,” he added.

Moreover, the audit’s findings have ignited calls for urgent federal reform. Raffensperger and other election officials are urging Congress to overhaul the outdated National Voter Registration Act of 1993, which has proven inadequate in preventing noncitizens from infiltrating voter rolls.

This push for reform comes as the Biden-Harris administration faces criticism for its lax approach to election integrity, including suing states that attempt to remove suspected noncitizens from voter lists.

Former Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) echoed the concerns of many Americans, stating:

“Millions of illegal immigrants have flooded our country since 2021, and it’s well-documented that thousands of them have successfully registered to vote in multiple states. But even with early voting now underway, Georgia voters are still waiting for confirmation that non-citizens are not casting ballots in our elections.”

Loeffler also emphasized that such heinous acts demonstrated that there were insufficient safeguards to keep noncitizens off the voter rolls in the first place.

She claimed that some changes will be required in state and federal law in every state and in the way that election officials screen new registration applicants.

As early voting continues in Georgia through November 1, the pressure mounts for a comprehensive solution to this threat to America’s democracy.
