(StraightShooterNews.com) – After months of intense investigation, the GOP-led House has concluded a major probe into Joe Biden, ending with accusations but no push for impeachment.
This closure puts an end to an inquiry that dominated Washington discussions for months.
At first, the investigation sought to prove that Biden misused his power and was involved in a scheme to benefit his family financially.
However, the evidence gathered did not definitively link Biden to any wrongdoing related to his family’s business activities.
Interestingly, the final report was published at the beginning of the Democrat National Convention, possibly to prevent Biden from swaying public opinion with his speech.
Despite this timing, the attention the report might have garnered was overshadowed by the convention’s media coverage.
While firmly slamming Biden, the report stopped short of recommending impeachment, stressing the gravity of such a decision.
“The House’s decision to pursue articles of impeachment must not be made lightly,” the report cautioned.
House Republicans recognized the political and practical challenges of impeachment, but they seem to have little appetite for such a divisive move, especially with Biden not seeking re-election and their slim majority.
Representative Don Bacon (R-NE) voiced his doubts about proceeding with impeachment given the current political climate.
In turn, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) praised the investigative effort but did not advocate for impeachment.
As the political landscape shifts, Republicans are now focusing criticism on Kamala Harris as the elections near, so the likelihood of pursuing impeachment seems minimal.
Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX) emphasized the importance of focusing on election issues like immigration policies and economic challenges rather than impeachment, which he views as counterproductive.
However, not all Republicans are stepping back from the issue. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) remains a vocal proponent of impeachment, urging her party to adopt a more assertive stance
“Republicans need to learn how to weld power, hold criminals accountable, work for America First, and stop living in fear constantly controlled by the never ending two year campaign election cycle,” Greene stated on X.
