(StraightShooterNews.com) – Double homicide suspect Stacy Lee Drake has remained elusive and on the run after ditching a stolen vehicle in Morrilton, Arkansas.

50-year-old Drake from Birmingham, Alabama, is considered armed and dangerous and was last spotted on foot near a local motel, according to a press release from the Arkansas State Police.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed that Drake is sought for the murder of a man and woman on Tuesday at a business close to Sallisaw, Oklahoma, roughly 17 miles from Fort Smith.

Although they found the stolen vehicle he used, authorities are still trying to pinpoint his location.

Oklahoma bureau spokesperson Hunter McKee highlighted that law enforcement is conducting a search for Drake across western Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.

However, updates from the Arkansas State Police suggested that Drake might still be near Morrilton after buying camping supplies recently.

“Drake is wanted in connection with homicides and carjackings in Oklahoma and is wanted on other felony warrants from multiple jurisdictions, with charges including aggravated robbery, carjacking and murder,” the Arkansas State Police disclosed.

Additionally, Drake is implicated in an armed robbery from 2010 in Fort Smith. A police report from that incident described how a couple found Drake in their bedroom early in the morning, armed and demanding money.

He fled with their wallet and car, later telling them he would leave the vehicle in an Oklahoma City IHOP parking lot. He allegedly entered their home through an unlocked sliding door.

During his escape, Drake talked to the couple. “He did say I don’t want to have to kill a police officer,” one victim recalled.

“That’s what I thought was a strange thing to say, but he didn’t want to kill a police officer, to please wait ten minutes. But I didn’t, I called 911,” the victim added.

Following this, on February 26, 2010, Drake was arrested for a carjacking incident in Gordo, Alabama, after crashing the stolen car. He was hospitalized and then taken to jail in Pickens County, Alabama.

Originally sentenced to 20 years for his crimes over the years, his sentence was later reduced to 11 years in 2017.

Drake was released from prison on September 24, 2019, on his own recognizance. He then “failed to report to the probation office and his whereabouts are currently unknown.”
