500,000 at Border

Red light

(StraightShooterNews.com) – Ukraine’s military leaders are sounding the alarm, as Vladimir Putin is reportedly mobilizing over 500,000 soldiers along the Russian border.

The situation has grown increasingly urgent for Ukraine since it has depleted its reserves in response to Russia’s sudden intensified offensive on Kharkiv.

Ukrainian military intelligence head General Kyrylo Budanov revealed the dire state of his forces: “I’ve used everything we have. Unfortunately, we don’t have anyone else in the reserves.”

This stark admission comes as Russian forces have made significant territorial gains in a rapid push that marks their largest progress in months.

The offensive has been described as Russia’s summer campaign’s initial phase, which aims to strain Ukraine’s already outnumbered defenders.

Although Kyiv reported a temporary slowing in the Russian advance last night, the overwhelming number of Russian troops poses a constant threat of escalation.

Dr. Jack Watling of the Royal United Services Institute underscored Ukraine’s grim prospects unless it can secure additional forces and noted that Russia has “significant numerical superiority” with 510,000 troops.

Watling emphasized the critical need for Ukraine’s allies to replenish its stockpiles in order to sustain its defense efforts.

Further complicating matters, U.S. stipulations banned Ukraine from using certain advanced weaponry, such as Himars rockets, within Russian territory.

This limitation has allowed Russian forces to prepare their offensives without immediate retaliation.

Former UK joint chief General Sir Richard Barrons criticized this restriction and highlighted the strategic disadvantage it creates for Ukraine: “Those are the only weapons that will break up Russian forces as they organize themselves for an offensive.”

The conflict escalated recently as Russia began a fierce new assault in Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine.

Before this large-scale ground attack, approximately 40,000 soldiers and 500 tanks had gathered near the border in anticipation.

This week has seen intense combat that prompted the evacuation of 6,000 residents as Ukraine scrambles to reinforce its stretched defenses.

Ukrainian troops report that Russia continues to employ devastating human wave tactics by sacrificing large numbers of troops to secure territorial gains.

In response, Ukraine has started using kamikaze drones to counter the growing Russian forces.
